What is Your Super Power? – Something Inside

Greetings Dear Reader,

When Peter Parker lost his Uncle Ben at the hands of a thief he had allowed to escape it changed him.  The line that rings in my mind when I think about it is, “With great power comes great responsibility.”

In that moment of loss something inside Peter Parker changed forever.  His heart embraced the truth that he had a responsibility for his actions.  It took great pain and loss to bring him to this point.  I will ponder that part a little further down the path.  The loss was the catalyst.  The point here is the heart.

As we seek to embrace our super power we must begin within.  We must acknowledge that we have a responsibility.  We must see that to use it for gain or a selfish purpose is wrong.  We must admit that to hide it is selfish as well.  We did not ask for it.  We did not seek it.  We do, however, have it and must align our hearts to this truth.

Once the heart is set to use our powers for good a new dawn can break on who we are becoming.  It is never too late to begin to do what is right.  It is never too late to change our hearts.  As long as there is breath there is hope.  True heroes are first born on the inside.

There are so many dangerous implications to embracing this thought.  I become accountable for so much more than I wish to face.  Then again is that not the purpose for the change, so that I embrace the impossible and insurmountable in the name of higher ideals.  If I cannot recognize and fight the evil within how can ever hope to make a difference outwardly?

Wishing you joy in the journey,
