Music of the Season – Sleigh Ride

Greetings Dear Reader,

I have only ridden in a sleigh on snow once.  It was cold and very much fun.  I would love to do it again.  I chose this song today because of the blizzard that is blustering outside my home.  It is beautiful and terrible all at once. 

I will spend the day writing and preparing to share Christmas with my family.  I do, however, wish it were more Currier and Ives. There are gatherings I used to be a part of that came close to that and I am missing them this year.  I am content though to give good gifts to my children and remember that no matter how the day unfolds I have Christ to celebrate and honor.

There's a birthday party at the home of Farmer Gray.

It'll be the perfect ending of a perfect day.

We'll be singing the songs we love to sing without a single stop,

At the fireplace we will watch the chestnuts pop. Pop! Pop! Pop!

There's a happy feeling nothing in this world can buy,

When they pass around the coffee and the pumpkin pie.

It'll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Ives.
