The Walking Dead – First Thoughts

Greetings Dear Reader,

Most of my family enjoys the hit AMC series The Walking Dead.  If you have not yet found the show based on the graphic novel you should give it a go.  I find the writing and production to be of the highest quality.

Those unfamiliar with the show would think the title refers to the Zombies.  It does not.  In the world of The Walking Dead the title refers to the living.   They all carry the virus that turns them into Zombies.  No matter how they die as long is the brain is not violated they come back to animation.

Every one of those who have survived thus far are under the same condemnation.  Without some kind of cure they will become the other kind of walking dead.  All of this is so close to the true human condition.  Over the next couple of days I wish to ponder the parallel.  Walk with me if you wish.

Blackbird’s Song – Lee DeWyze

Pack your things, leave somehow.
Blackbird song is over now.
Mouths are dry.
River runs, hands are tied.
Preacher's son,
pack your things, leave somehow.
Blackbird song is over now.
Don't be scared
I'm still here.
No more time for crying tears.

Wishing you joy in the journey,

Aramis Thorn

Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure store."
