My King – The Nature of Kings

Greetings Dear Reader,

Kings do not rule by vote, compromise, or consensus.  Human kings are born into the role.  They sometimes take the throne by force.  They rule with the power of might and by birthright.  They do not seek permission to rule.

My King rules by the nature of his divine sovereignty.  He created all that there is and rules it because it is his.  We fail to remember this every time we question God’s authority to do as he wishes.  We question and complain about the King and his choices for the weather, the world, and our daily lives.

Some see God as an uninvolved absentee landlord.  Nothing is further from the truth.  He is here.  He is involved in everything.  We do not see it because we look through the lens of what we want the world to be instead of the lenses of faith, respect, and obedience.

God can do as he pleases with us.  It pleases him to love us, seek us, and be among us.  The invisible kingdom is only invisible to us.  It is here, alive, and growing.  It is up to me to participate.  It is up to me to see my King and follow him even when I cannot see.

The Kingdom – Michael Card

So near and yet still so far, far away
So close, and yet still to come
Concealed, the seed is mysteriously growing
In hearts that will listen and hear
A treasure that's hidden, a pearl of great price
A fortune for fools who believe

A kingdom of beauty, a kingdom of love
A kingdom of justice and peace
A kingdom that holds all the wilds of creation
A kingdom where children will lead

For now this kingdom's a land of the lowly
A place for the tired, plundered poor
Now our gentle King comes in peace on a donkey
But then on a charger for war
A battle in heaven, a war on the earth
To shatter the long darkened siege

Not by our own strength
And not by the power of might
But by His Spirit it comes
Blinded eyes will see
And deafened ears will hear
The praise from the lips of the dumb

Wishing you joy in the journey,

Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure store.”
