Greetings
Dear Reader,
I was
discussing Boxing Day with a friend and was intrigued to learn how a holiday
meant to honor those who serve us has migrated into just another bank/government
holiday that focuses on other things.
I wonder how
often we really consider those who serve us.
I have always viewed those who work in service industries as some of the
hardest working people there are. Every
time you go out to eat on a holiday you are being served by someone who is
working just so you can go out to eat.
When you buy gas at the convenience store someone is working so that you
can buy gas.
Perhaps we
should make it a point this week to be kinder and show some appreciation to
these folks. Maybe leave a better tip
than usual. Maybe thank the clerks for
being there you whenever you feel the need.
It is a great way to remember how dependent we are on those who work
hard.
Wishing you
joy in the journey,
Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So
Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer who has become a disciple of
Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home owner. He liberally hands out new
and old things from his great treasure store."
