On C.S. Lewis

Greetings Dear Reader,

Today a dear friend journeys northward to speak to people in my town about C.S. Lewis and the books that influenced him.  Though I do not see him as often as I wish Dr. Donald T. Williams is very important to me as a friend.  He has remained my friend through many tempests, even some of my own creation.  His children and mine shared friendships and adventures as they were growing to adulthood.

This weekend he will speak at the C.S. Lewis Society of Madison.  The topic of the conference is The Ten Books That Most Influenced C.S. Lewis.  There are so many important things in the works of Lewis that anyone with the inkling to do so should make time to attend.  Don is worth hearing at any rate.  As always his words will be carefully crafted to extract the most value from his time.

One will also benefit from reading Dr. Williams’ books.  Both his prose and poetry reflect a deep insight into who we are in relation to God.  The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit is my favorite of his works and perhaps the best on the topic.  Go to the link for the C.S. Lewis Society in Madison and check the schedule.  It would be worth the time to hear Don and his colleagues as they speak about the author who had such deep influence.  We can gain insight into what influenced him.
See you soon Don.

Wishing you joy in the journey,

Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure store."
