Greetings Dear Reader,
When one looks at the tangled interplay of all the world’s
woes it may seem that no one is minding the store. The cacophony of conflicts, crises, and
catastrophes that spin through the news feed depict a world in dire need of an
intervention.
The problem of evil is one that many use to deny the existence
of God. I will not delve into that here
but it is obvious that the world is in need of help. In the midst of the mess those who follow Christ
have this crazy notion that God is in control of it all.
It is the idea that God is sovereign over everything. He in fact is has the world so in hand that
he has a response to every action, thought, and need. After years of pondering this it still hurts
my brain. That does not mean that it is
not real. It simply means that I follow
a God that is beyond my understanding. I
am OK with that.
Some people think of God as distant; as an absent
landlord. One of the basics of the
belief of Christ followers is that they believe he is involved in
everything. God has a plan and it is
unfolding. We may not get it, but if we
follow in faith we will arrive where we are supposed to arrive when we are
supposed to get there.
My Grandfather used to say it like this; “What is to be will
be even if it don’t happen.” As silly as
it sounds it really is that simple.
Wishing you joy in the journey,
Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer
who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home
owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure
store."
