A Million Dreams ~ Opening Thoughts

Greetings Dear Reader,

This weekend my Daughter took me to see “The Greatest Showman”, the story of P.T. Barnum and the creation of his circus.  I expected it to be good.  I did not expect it to be inspirational.  I promise no spoilers here.

I would like to begin a discussion concerning this entire idea of dreams.  I am in a wilderness time where they seem unreachable and untenable.  That does not mean I can or will give up on them.  It does mean that I have to work harder to put hands and feet on them.

This is not the first time I have felt that I am out of options and in an untenable position.  In the past I have made the mistake of failing to put my faith ahead of my fear.  This time I have done what is required of me and I am working to find a way to do what I must.

When nothing seems to be going the way you think it should go, holding onto faith may be all that seems available.  I cannot see the answers but I am not promised that I will.  I cannot see the way but I am only promised that if I keep moving I will not be alone.  I still dare to dream when there seems nothing but gossamer to them.

I do it to be an example and to sustain hope.  I do to live out what I am designed to be.  Come dance along a gossamer thread with me for a bit Dear Reader.

A Million Dreams – The Greatest Showman (Benj Pasek and Justin Paul)

I close my eyes and I can see
The world that's waiting up for me
That I call my own
Through the dark, through the door
Through where no one's been before
But it feels like home

They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
They can say, they can say I've lost my mind
I don't care, I don't care, so call me crazy
We can live in a world that we design

'Cause every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all its gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

There's a house we can build
Every room inside is filled
With things from far away
The special things I compile
Each one there to make you smile
On a rainy day

They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
They can say, they can say we've lost our minds
I don't care, I don't care if they call us crazy
Runaway to a world that we design

P. T. BARNUM:
Every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all its gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

However big, however small
Let me be part of it all
Share your dreams with me
You may be right, you may be wrong
But say that you're bring me along
To the world you see
To the world I close my eyes to see
I close my eyes to see

Every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
A million dreams, a million dreams
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all its gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

For the world we're gonna make

Wishing you joy in the journey,

Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure store.”
