Meditations In the Christmas Story - Angel Army Choir - Tempus angelorum

Merry Christmas Dear Reader,

“and suddenly there was with the Angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying ‘Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth, good will to men.”

The shepherds were afraid when the first angel showed up.    Then the army arrived.  From the moment of his birth the angels were there to watch, protect, and learn.   At the moment they get the joy and share it with the other watchers; the shepherds.

For now the joy is real and the sorrow is three decades down the path.  Still they pause    in their war with evil to celebrate the Father and the birth.  They step through the veil to amaze the shepherds and bring them into the glory of the moment.

This moment in which time is full is that of glory and amazement because of the act of God.  He comes to be among us and be like us so that we can return to him.  He builds a bridge by taking on flesh and blood.  He extends himself by opening his heart and arms.

We will kill him.  For now, however, we celebrate with the angels.  For now they pause and celebrate with us.  I life my voice to say “Glory to God in the highest.”  Please join me.

Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o’er the plains,
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains.

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
Which inspire your heav’nly song?

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

Come to Bethlehem and see
Him Whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

See Him in a manger laid,
Whom the choirs of angels praise;
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
While our hearts in love we raise.

Wishing you joy in the journey,

Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure store.”
