Merry Christmas Dear Reader,
“They went quickly and found Mary and Joseph with the baby,
who was lying in a manger.”
The shepherds see Jesus. They find him just where they were
told. They see the child wrapped in
swaddling clothes in a manger. They see
Jesus. Later Simeon and Anna will see
Jesus.
Of late too many do not seek or see Jesus. They let the failures of his followers and
the confusion in the world cloud the seeking and the sight. We must really seek and see Jesus. We must see more than the baby in the
manger. We must see more than the trim
and trappings.
The little plastic baby in the manger in the stable under
tree is there to remind me that God is with us.
He is always with us. I must
choose to see him. It is faith not evidence
that helps us see. It is believing that
is seeing.
It is the child that becomes the man that is the God that
offers eternal peace to us all. It does,
however, require that we see Jesus first.
Really see Jesus and take the risk of believing.
Come Ye
Sinners – Fernando Ortega
Come, ye sinners, poor and needy,
Weak and wounded, sick and sore;
Jesus ready stands to save you,
Full of pity, love and pow’r.
I will arise and go to Jesus,
He will embrace me in His arms;
In the arms of my dear Savior,
Oh, there are ten thousand charms.
Come, ye thirsty, come, and welcome,
God’s free bounty glorify;
True belief and true repentance,
Every grace that brings you nigh.
Come, ye weary, heavy-laden,
Lost and ruined by the fall;
If you tarry till you’re better,
You will never come at all.
I will arise and go to Jesus,
He will embrace me in His arms;
In the arms of my dear Savior,
Oh, there are ten thousand charms.
View Him prostrate in the garden;
On the ground your Maker lies;
On the bloody tree behold Him;
Sinner, will this not suffice?
Lo! th’ incarnate God ascended,
Pleads the merit of His blood:
Venture on Him, venture wholly,
Let no other trust intrude.
Let not conscience make you linger,
Not of fitness fondly dream;
All the fitness He requireth
Is to feel your need of Him.
I will arise and go to Jesus,
He will embrace me in His arms;
In the arms of my dear Savior,
Oh, there are ten thousand charms.
Wishing you joy in the journey,
Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer
who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home
owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure
store.”
