Meditations In the Christmas Story - Joseph - Tempus ad Patrem
Merry Christmas Dear Reader,
“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his
mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found
with child of the Holy Ghost. Then
Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example,
was minded to put her away privily.”
I have written and entire novel about this man; The
Foster Father of God. I will let you
glean most of my thoughts on the man there.
Here though we see a man who was trying to find life over death for someone
he believed had betrayed him.
It is in this that we see Joseph as a keen example of Christ. The journey through all of time has been to
redeem those who betrayed the Father. An
angel steps in all is understood. Still,
we need to remember that this man had a heart to save life that could be
destroyed under the law.
Joseph is seldom center stage. He is supporting cast worthy of an
Oscar. He is vital to the story and
worthy of attention. He needs to be more
to me that the statue that I put next to Mary in the manger scene.
Joseph’s
Song – Michael Card
How could it be this baby in my arms
Sleeping now, so peacefully
The Son of God, the angel said
How could it be?
Lord, I know He's not my own
Not of my flesh, not of my bone
Still Father let this baby be
The son of my love
Father show me where I fit into this plan of yours
How can a man be father to the Son of God
Lord for all my life I've been a simple carpenter
How can I raise a king, how can I raise a king?
He looks so small, His face and hands so fair
And when He cries the sun just seems to disappear
But when He laughs it shines again
How could it be?
Father show me where I fit into this plan of yours
How can a man be father to the Son of God
Lord for all my life I've been a simple carpenter
How can I raise a king, how can I raise a king?
How could it be this baby in my arms
Sleeping now, so peacefully
The Son of God, the angel said
How could it be? How could it be?
Wishing you joy in the journey,

Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer
who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home
owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure
store.”
