Meditations In the Christmas Story – A Little Later

Merry Christmas Dear Reader,

They come seeking “He who is born King of the Jews”.   They come with gifts for that King.  We do not know how many there were.  We do know that it was significant enough to them that they journeyed in response to a star in the sky.

This event comes some time after the birth.  It is important because of the acknowledgment by outside authority of who Jesus is.  It is important because the horror that follows must never be forgotten.

The Christmas story is filled with marvel and tragedy.  I must always embrace both.  I must always see that the joy of this week will be followed by tragic responses.  That is as it should be though.  We cannot sustain joy in reality until he who is “Born King of the Jews”: brings all things under his authority.

I will grasp it whilst I can.  I will share the song with you about the Magi who were not kings but came to worship the King of Kings.  There is some awesome theology in this song.  Enjoy Dear Reader.

We Three Kings – Claymation Christmas

We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar.
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.

Born a king on Bethlehem's plain,
Gold I bring to crown Him again,
King forever, ceasing never
Over us all to reign.

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.

Frankincense to offer have I.
Incense owns a Deity nigh.
Prayer and praising all men raising,
Worship Him, God on high.

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.

Myrrh is mine: it's bitter perfume
Breaths a life of gathering gloom.
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding dying,
Sealed in the stone-cold tomb.

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.

Glorious now behold Him arise,
King and God and Sacrifice.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Sounds through the earth and skies.

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light

Wishing you joy in the journey,

Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure store.”
