Greetings Dear Reader,
It is so easy to forget that our lives are not our own. We owe God a death. We will end.
I have been keenly reminded of that lately. Life is a gift from God. The things we are good at are a gift from
God. The entire universe is a gift from
God.
When we proceed from this truth we must admit that we owe a
debt. When I write well I owe a debt of
gratitude to God. When I dine out well
with my children it is because of God’s provision. When I enjoy good music it is because God has
ordered the mathematics of the universe in such a way music is possible.
We get so mired in what we think we are that we do not
really remember from whence we come. I
realize that some of you Dear Reader don’t believe any of this. That is one of the minor reasons why this is
a hard truth. It is a harder truth for
those of us who believe.
If I believe then I not only owe the debt to God but I am
aware of it. I am accountable for that
debt. I am moment by moment incurring
more debt for the rich life I have. In
each act that I follow Christ I pay a portion of that debt. In each moment that I follow he gives grace
and mercy on that debt.
There is no other source.
I realize that you may not agree with me. The hard truth is that we do not determine
the truth. My belief or another’s
unbelief will not change what is true. Someday
the bill will come due. Someday the God
of the Universe will ask me what I have done with what he has given me. He will open that clearing at the end of the
path and evaluate my journey.
The other side of this truth is that I know all will be well
as long as I have followed his Son. His
demand is that I pay in love and faith.
He currency is grace and mercy.
The exchange rate is how I forgive versus the forgiveness I seek. I cannot pay all I owe. Proceeding from that truth makes God’s offer
of redemption so very real.

Dance – Kemper Crabb
All creation moves in a cosmic dance
Before the Lord her King
The rhythms, the reason, the rhyme of the dance
Poses within everything
And the universe wheels and whirls like a dervish
In perfect seven step time
The Lord made the dance, he taught us the steps
He causes the stars to shine
We must dance, dance, dance,
Dance in God’s honor
Dance in God’s honor
We must yield our steps unto the King
We must dance, dance, dance
Dance in God’s honor
Let his praises ring throughout the earth
Adam and Eve danced in Eden’s environs
Early in earth’s morning air
They named all the animals musical names
Glorious potentiality shared
But Lucifer sang out a serpentine song
And offered death’s dance as his token
In pause to listen Adam missed his step
Earth’s harmony in the dance broken
We must dance, dance, dance,
Dance in God’s honor
Dance in God’s honor
We must yield our steps unto the King
We must dance, dance, dance,
Dance in God’s honor
Let his praises ring throughout the earth
Jesus danced into the world
Singing his heavenly song
And he taught his dance to those who would listen
And learn and he moved along
But steps of his dance they led to a cross
Where he died while the haters mocked on
But he dance through death’s arms and over hell’s gates
And in three danced forth from his tomb
We must dance, dance, dance,
Dance in God’s honor
Dance in God’s honor
We must yield our steps unto our King
We must dance, dance, dance
Dance in God’s honor
Let his praises ring throughout the earth
We must dance, dance, dance,
Dance in God’s honor
Dance in God’s honor
We must dance, dance, dance,
Dance in God’s honor
Dance in God’s honor
We must dance, dance, dance,
Dance in God’s honor
Dance in God’s honor
We must dance, dance, dance,
Dance in God’s honor
Dance in God’s honor
Wishing you joy in the journey,

Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer
who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home
owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure
store.”

When I write not so well I owe a debt of gratitude to God, for the ability to write at all. When I dine out, (even if it doesn't go so well), with my children it is because of God’s provisions, grace, and generosity to which fullfills the hunger of my flesh and the hunger of my heart . When I hear music it is because God has ordered the mathematics of the universe in such a way music is possible, and blessed me with the ability to hear, even if the melody is SHARP.
ReplyDelete2 Chronicles 33:12 KJV
And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.
"Praise You In This Storm"
I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
[Chorus:]
And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You
But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
[Chorus]
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth
[Chorus x2]
