A Season of Giving – First Thoughts
Greetings Dear Reader,
It troubles me greatly that as a society we have moved so
far toward commercialism that shopping is more important than family time on
Thanksgiving Day. Although I understand
the desire to save money we have made the hype more important than the spirit
of giving.
It is too easy for the next few weeks to be consumed by
desire and greed. I intend to spend my
time pondering what true giving is for me.
Please join me and I desire to know what giving means to you Dear
Reader.
Today I will be Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army. Please do not pass by the Red Kettles without
giving something. Every penny matters. As we ponder giving together we must begin by
remembering those who have urgent and burgeoning needs. What you give matters so much more than what
you possess.
Wishing you joy in the journey,
Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer
who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home
owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure
store."
