On Communism – The Obvious Bad

Greetings Dear Reader,

Whenever we take it upon ourselves to regulate the common welfare through government we seem to mess it up.  When we care for others out of a spirit of love and compassion we do so very well.

When we leave God out of the attempt to socialize for the common good the corrupt nature of men with power leads to excess.  When we kill in the name of the common good there is no common good.  When we take from the many and give excess to the few that in not the common good.

Any nation that has to forbid its citizens to leave must question its values.  The obvious bad about communism is that it has not worked to ensure the life, liberty, and safety of its people.

This does not mean that the ideas are bad.  They are not.  They do not, however, function in a system void of morals necessary to assure that people are treated well.  This is true for any system of government.

As a Christ follower I must be able to avoid keeping possession when others are in need.  I must also assure that any government attempt to force redistribution is guided by morality and not a false view of fairness.

Christ followers should be so given to the needs of others that the discussion becomes unnecessary.

Wishing you joy in the journey,

Aramis Thorn

Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure store."
