We waged and won two world wars because of the personal
sacrifice of multitudes. What has been
called the greatest generation of Americans gave in every area for the common
good. It seems that in almost every area
we have forsaken the common welfare for personal preferences.
No matter what your view on issues like poverty, health
care, and the economy we cannot recover without a measure of personal
sacrifice. We need to come together for
the common good of our nation and focus on how to fix the problem. We need to lay aside our political
differences and save the ship.
As a Christ follower I am required to always be willing to
sacrifice personally for the better of others.
This is never to be viewed as a loss to me. How can we call ourselves followers if we
allow the poor, the sick, and those not receiving justice to go uncared
for? There is no room on the journey for
indifference or negligence.
Everything about our redemption is tethered to
sacrifice. We have allowed the excesses
we have to dull our understanding of sacrifice.
If the journey is to continue for us then we, I must remember the cost
and be willing to pay it.
Wishing you joy in the journey,
Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer
who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home
owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure
store."
