Greetings Dear Reader,
There are a couple of things in this story that we do not
recognize unless we look for them. First
is that God viewed man’s ability to advance as something that needed hindrance. Second is that God acknowledges that nothing
is impossible for us.
His approach is to confound language. God establishes that communication is the key
to our advancement. As we lose our
ability to communicate we lose the power to work together to create. We are sub-creators. We are designed by God to innovate, discover,
explore, and build.
When we acquired a sinful nature we learned to turn that creativity
to evil things. The story of Babel does
not imply that the people there were doing anything evil. It does imply that to keep man safe from his
own evil God had to slow him down. Once
again the Father acts to give us time to get to the Son.
God is involved in the lives of his creation. He wants to redeem us. All of the power and strength of his original
creation cannot be allowed to continue if we are to make it to the cross. I must see the intervention at Babel as God
communicating to me that he is working.
He is on his way but must do it by the rules he has laid out for us all.
Wishing you joy in the journey,
Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer
who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home
owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure
store."
