On Giving Thanks – Thanksgiving

Greetings Dear Reader,

As I spend my quiet time this morning praying, reading, and writing I am also anticipating a day of feasting and reunions.  I was able to see some of my family last night and it was joyful.  I want to assure that in all I do I show gratitude today and every day.

I truly do have much for which to be thankful.  This month of counting my blessings has reminded me to be more thankful for things.  Today, I wish to make sure that I thank God for all that I have.  It is his orchestration of the universe that allows every good thing in my life. It is his provision and blessings that grant me the privilege to write and have my words published.

No matter how far down the path I go I am tethered to the moment when God reached into the life of suicidal teen and told him that he mattered.  He used a man who was determined to show love to show that teen that he was lovable.  The Father used the words of his Son to enact an adoption.

I am alive and continue to live through the grace and mercy of a God who loves me and everyone he created.  For this I am truly thankful.  Happy Thanksgiving Dear Reader.

Now Thank We All Our God – Martin Rinkart

Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things has done, in Whom this world rejoices;
Who from our mothers’ arms has blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

O may this bounteous God through all our life be near us,
With ever joyful hearts and blessèd peace to cheer us;
And keep us in His grace, and guide us when perplexed;
And free us from all ills, in this world and the next!

All praise and thanks to God the Father now be given;
The Son and Him Who reigns with Them in highest Heaven;
The one eternal God, whom earth and Heaven adore;
For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.

Wishing you joy in the journey,
