Greetings Dear Reader,
I mentioned a couple of days ago that I thought that I could
not do justice to the Kingdom of God in describing it. I do think that we need to ponder it in every
moment. This will not take long, so
please reason with me.
Jesus’ constant conversation about the rule of the Father
over all things is central to his purpose in engaging with us in human form. He wanted to show that humans can live out
the laws of the Kingdom here in the wilderness through which we journey. We can choose to be the things that mark us
as citizens of that Kingdom.
We are on our way home to that Kingdom and are required to
act as ambassadors of it. It the long
journey that we face, we are supposed to wish and work for the Kingdom to come
to earth. We are to be examples of how
the citizens of that Kingdom live.
This means that we are to think, live, and act as the Kingdom
of the Father is. We will have to be
this anyway. This means that in each
turn of the day, at every venture, and in every moment, we are required to live
as representatives of the King. We are to
do things that create moments of the Kingdom’s presence in the lives of others
through our generosity, kindness, compassion, and love.
I must live out forgiveness, kindness, love, justice,
righteousness, and goodness in each encounter.
I must give my journey to both drawing closer to the Kingdom and drawing
an image of the Kingdom for those around me.
I cannot be perfect but I can try Dear Reader. We can journey together and double our
efforts making a better world for everyone.
The
Kingdom – Michael Card
So near and yet still so far, far away
So close, and yet still to come
Concealed, the seed is mysteriously growing
In hearts that will listen and hear
A treasure that's hidden, a pearl of great price
A fortune for fools who believe
So close, and yet still to come
Concealed, the seed is mysteriously growing
In hearts that will listen and hear
A treasure that's hidden, a pearl of great price
A fortune for fools who believe
A kingdom of beauty, a kingdom of love
A kingdom of justice and peace
A kingdom that holds all the wilds of creation
A kingdom where children will lead
A kingdom of justice and peace
A kingdom that holds all the wilds of creation
A kingdom where children will lead
For now, this kingdom's a land of the lowly
A place for the tired, plundered poor
Now our gentle King comes in peace on a donkey
But then on a charger for war
A battle in heaven, a war on the earth
To shatter the long darkened siege
A place for the tired, plundered poor
Now our gentle King comes in peace on a donkey
But then on a charger for war
A battle in heaven, a war on the earth
To shatter the long darkened siege
A kingdom of beauty, a kingdom of love
A kingdom of justice and peace
A kingdom that holds all the wilds of creation
A kingdom where children will lead
A kingdom of justice and peace
A kingdom that holds all the wilds of creation
A kingdom where children will lead
Not by our own strength
And not by the power of might
But by His Spirit, it comes
Blinded eyes will see
And deafened ears will hear
The praise from the lips of the dumb
And not by the power of might
But by His Spirit, it comes
Blinded eyes will see
And deafened ears will hear
The praise from the lips of the dumb
A kingdom of beauty, a kingdom of love
A kingdom of justice and peace
A kingdom that holds all the wilds of creation
A kingdom where children will lead
A kingdom of justice and peace
A kingdom that holds all the wilds of creation
A kingdom where children will lead
Wishing you joy in the journey,
