Within This Moment ~ Your Will
Greetings Dear Reader,
The matter of will is an intriguing one. We are given free will to choose how we will
interact with the Father. We are given
free will when we choose how we treat each other. Then, the Father asks us to submit our will
to his.
We have a choice but Jesus wishes for us to choose the
Father’s will over everything in everything.
I am not trying to convince anyone that you have a choice. I am trying to establish that the choice must
be made in every choosing. It must be
made in the vein that every thought, feeling, and action must be given over to
the Father. It must be a venture in yielding
to the will of the Father even when we do not understand the “why” of it.
I have a friend who barely believes in God. He states that the primary reason that he
does believe is that man would not design free will. He wants it, wields it, and wastes it but he
would not design it. Still, we are
commanded to use our free will to align our hearts with the Father in all we attempt
to do.
I choose. I am
responsible for my choices. Accountability
for my failure to love and be kind rests on my shoulders. The Father, however, is not willing that any
should perish. He, therefore, gives us
the Son to be the willing payment for our failures so that justice and
righteousness are satisfied and mercy still wins. He then asks that we live according to his will
in every step by following his Son.
It is my duty to allow my will to be conformed to that of
the Father. He is willing to work in us
to will to do according to his good pleasure.
His plans are to sustain us and enrich us, not to harm us. This is the pivotal point Dear Reader. It is not my will but the Father’s that must
be done. I want to will to will
according to his will.
Thy
Will Be Done – Hillary Scott
I’m so confused
I know I heard you loud and clear
So, I followed through
Somehow I ended up here
I don’t wanna think
I may never understand
That my broken heart is a part of your plan
When I try to pray
All I’ve got is hurt and these four words
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
I know you’re good
But this don’t feel good right now
And I know you think
Of things, I could never think about
It’s hard to count it all joy
Distracted by the noise
Just trying to make sense
Of all your promises
Sometimes I gotta stop
Remember that you’re God
And I am not
So
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Like a child on my knees, all that comes to me is
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Thy will
I know you see me
I know you hear me, Lord
Your plans are for me
Goodness you have in store
I know you hear me
I know you see me, Lord
Your plans are for me
Good news you have in store
So, thy will be done
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Like a child on my knees, all that comes to me is
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
I know you see me
I know you hear me, Lord
Wishing you joy in the journey,
