Greetings Dear Reader,
On Boxing Day many places in the world are enjoying another
day off to revel in the season. In other
places the thoughts of the world turn to the closing of the year and the new
one ahead. Resolutions are proposed and
posted. We envision plans and change.
What I hope to do is put in place a determination to
move. In managing life, we can dream
about what we want all we wish. If we do
not move in the direction of our dreams we will never get there. I have heard so many people talk about how
terrible the past year has been. I admit
that it has been a very hard year but it has also become the staging ground for
changes that are vital to me rebuilding my life.
I am not going to tell you that I have all the answers but I
do know that if I do not move, I will be in the same place this time next
year. I am counting as lost the things
that I used to use to shore up my fractured self. I have things to accomplish and places to
go. I have fences to mend and wounds to
heal.
It is not that I can accomplish this. It is that I must not resist the movement
necessary for it to be accomplished. I
am not going to make resolutions but I am going to lay a foundation for ways to
keep moving. As I do that, I hope that
you can find something to help you down the road as well.
I am too flawed to be an example and too broken to be of
great use to you Dear Reader. I can,
however, be open about where I am going and hope that we can help each other
avoid a snag or two. Your company in the
journey is always welcome, even if you only see my flaws.
Dare You to Move
– Switchfoot
Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone's here
Everyone's here
Everybody's watching you know
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?
Welcome to existence
Everyone's here
Everyone's here
Everybody's watching you know
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be
Yeah
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be
Yeah
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself
To lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself
To lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened before
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened before
