The Right to Change ~ Closing Thoughts

Greetings Dear Reader,

When we choose to change our own lives, we crave motivation and support.  We want others to cheer us on.  If, however, we are determined to change we move forward no matter the opposition.

It comes this then, for those who do not give others the right to change, we cannot prevent change in those determined to do so.  We can, though, fail to love, honor, and support that change.  We can reveal our own lack of grace and mercy toward others.  We show that we have not forgiven.

In a world where we are supposed to be known for our love, we cannot evidence love by refusing others the right to change.  Further still, we are actually required to hope that they will.  We need to want the best for everyone.  No matter what has transpired, our obligation is to love and forgiveness.  We must desire that everyone find the love of Christ that leads them to become their better selves.

As I have worked through this, it has been easy to identify areas where I have not given others dry ground on which to stand so that their lives can change.  I must not harbor anything that believes that others will not change.  Dear Reader, we must walk in a certain knowledge that love endures, believes, and hopes in every area.  It is what the Father does for us and what we must do for each other.  Let us then hold out the love that gives others the right to change and dares them to move.

Dare You to Move – Switchfoot

Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone's here
Everyone's here
Everybody's watching you know
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be
Yeah

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself
To lift yourself up off the floor

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened before

Wishing you joy in the journey,
