Happy Christmas Dear Reader,
“Give an anonymous gift of money to someone who has been
laid off.”
I have seen people struggle with this. It is one of those things that calls out who
we really are. There are good and
capable people who are willing to work but cannot find work that suits their
skills.
One of my closest friends is in this crucible. The need to meet his obligations is at constant
war with his call to be a man apart. It
is in this crucible that our character and faith are revealed. It is in this fire that the dross is burned
away and the true person remains.
It you want to do good look to those in need and help them
with no possibility of recompense or knowledge from them. Do so that they cannot even show you
gratitude. Use a third party or creatively
contrive. The adventure of it is
astounding. Need and want are keenly
felt at this time of year. There is no
better Christmas carol than seeing it and helping in secret.
Wishing you joy in the journey,
Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer
who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home
owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure
store.”
