Happy Christmas Dear Reader,
“Tell me Christmas are we wise, to believe in things we
never see?
Are prayers just wishes in disguise and are these wishes
being granted me?” - Trans-Siberian Orchestra
The seed of this theme for December comes from the album
Christmas Eve and Other Stories by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. We all wish for something at Christmas. We may not even like Christmas and wish to be
left alone. This was what Scrooge originally
wished.
We all wish for something.
There are hidden rooms in our hearts where we store those things that
are our fondest desires. We guard them, hide them, and nurture them but rarely
let them out. They live next door to our
dreams and hopes yearning to be transformed into reality.
This is the time of year when we let some of our wishes out
to play. We give them a little sunshine
and air. We might even take them to meet
some of our friends. All too soon, however,
we put the away with the lights and ornaments.
We box them up and store them until the next December tries to stir
them.
The promises of Christmas find some of their roots in
wishes. We wish for things that are
good. We desire for things to be a
certain way. We want to put certain
things into our lives. I use this time
of year to rekindle wishes. It is up to
me to keep feeding the fire. I wish the
same for you Dear Reader.
Wishing you joy in the journey,
Aramis Thorn
Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every writer
who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a home
owner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure
store.”
