Greetings Dear Reader,
We encounter wood daily.
It may be in the form of trees or furniture. It will be growing and live or cut and shaped
to our needs. We do not consider what
wood is very often. It is, like any
other plant, made of cells. “The
cells are made of three substances called cellulose (about 50 percent),
lignin (which makes up a fifth to a quarter of hardwoods but a quarter to a
third of softwoods), and hemicellulose (the remainder).” EXPLAINTHATSTUFF
Let us consider the creation of that wood for a bit. I realize that some of you do not believe in intelligent
design. I do. That must be considered here. The Carpenter of Nazareth created all the
wood he ever cut, shaped, or joined. “All
things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made.” He designed the form and makeup of wood. He then learned as a human how to shape it to
useful purposes.
It is clear that we understand that this is the same
approach that Jesus takes with us. Every
fiber of our being is known and made by the Carpenter who wants to shape our
lives into the image that the Father intends them to become. He wants to craft us from the raw material of
our fallen state into something that good, kind, and loving. He will cut away that which hides our beauty
and chisel away that which hides our love and kindness.
Jesus told his disciples that were fishermen that he would
make them fishers of men. The Carpenter
wishes to craft us into apprentice carpenters that help shape lives into
something beautiful. Craftsmanship and
artistry are created in all of us by the one who created all things Dear
Reader. It is through the process of
being shaped by him that we find our way home.
The journey must always pass through his carpentry shop.
Wishing you joy in the journey,

Mat 13:52 So Jesus said to them, "That is why every
writer who has become a disciple of Christ’s rule of the universe is like a
homeowner. He liberally hands out new and old things from his great treasure
store.”
