Second Thoughts ~ On Canceling Dr. Seuss

Greetings Dear Reader, 

Apparently, there are those who would cancel Dr. Seuss.  Today is his birthday.  No matter what your reasons, his art, and his writing are of solid value.  Here is a humble offering for his birthday. 

I will Keep My Seuss and All his Moose Juice

To celebrate the birth of our great Doctor Seuss,
We laud his books and their powerful use.
A culture it seems (the bacterial kind)
Had canceling his work infecting their minds
They thought their dismissal would be of good use,
To cancel the genius of our beloved Seuss. 

To cancel a thing that only exists
To enrich minds and hearts just gives me fits.
If we throw away that which helps children to think,
It brings us to the brink of a culture that stinks.
Let’s keep our Seuss and throw out the thought,
Of canceling this man and the good things he taught.
