Carrying Christmas in my Heart ~ The Fullness of Time

Happy Christmas Dear Reader,

I have written about the fullness of time before so, I will summarize the foundation briefly.  I view time as flowing through an hourglass.  It is a finite thing.   There is a point at which the Father began time and there will be a point at which it ends.  Time is divided by the Advent of Christ.

The time flows from the top half of the glass and the bottom becomes full at the birth of Jesus.  The fullness of time is the inversion of the hourglass and time begins to flow back to its ultimate end.  Please do not think I have gone mad quite yet.  This is the metaphor that I use to understand my thinking about time.

The point is that time is finite.  We all have a limited supply of it and the world will eventually run out of it.  We can only use it.  We cannot create it or bank it.  It is required of us that we redeem it.  This all is at the core of carrying Christmas in our hearts throughout the year.

Time moves steadily, always into the future.  We choose what we will carry into each moment.  We decide how we will mark each second of life with how we treat others, our attitudes, and our thoughts.  All of this leads to the need to be kind and loving toward others.  It teaches us not to waste time with petty squabbles, bitterness, and anger.  It reminds us that we leave behind marks of how we used time and how we treated others.

The journey is marked by time.  Making the love the primary currency we used to spend it is what can get us home with the greatest joy.  Time is fleeting and there are promises embedded in that time.  We are able to use if to make the lives of others richer just by being good to them.  It is a choice.  It is our purpose.  It is time for us to fulfill the fullness with love for the Father and for each other.  Shall we get to it, Dear Reader?

Wishing you joy in the journey,
