Destroy Your Enemies ~ Step 2: Is the Sun Still Up?

Greetings Dear Reader,

If you have read Sun Tzu, you know the importance of keeping emotion out of military decisions.  This is vital when plotting to destroy our enemies.  It is necessary to make dear calculated choices based on reason and logic rather than anger.

Let me be clear; anger is not wrong and it is often warranted.  It has a place but must also be a vagrant resident as opposed to a permanent tenant.  It is vital to our plan we do not allow anger to keep us from clear thinking.  It is necessary to keep our resolve and set aside the anger.

There are many ways to do this.  One way is to set aside the emotion altogether.  Rarely do we do this completely and rarer still is someone who can do this always without suffering from it.  Another method of dealing with anger is sublimation.  I used to often work out my anger through activity or killing imaginary creatures.  This is good but is not sustainable.

There is a third method of keeping anger out of our strategy.  It seems counterintuitive to the process but it works.  The idea is to forgive the wrongs done to us before the day ends.  It is the thinking that if we forgive the wrong, we are in a righteous position to meet out justice.  It takes the vengeance factor out of the equation allowing for cold justice to land on our enemies from our meeting out righteous retribution.

If then, we have identified our enemies well and set aside our anger, we are able to plan our war against them.  When planning the destruction of an enemy, it is vital to know who the enemy is.  It is paramount to have cool clear thinking concerning our plan for justice without the fog of vengeance hindering us.

Now that we have anger set aside, Dear Reader, we can move on to delivering justice.  We can plan how we will destroy our enemy through justice imposed.  For now, however, I must ponder anger and be certain I am giving it short life based on proper criteria.  I must not allow it to live long or prosper.  I must not let it live past sundown by forgiving my enemies.

Wishing you joy in the journey,
