The sun is up and
burning off the morning mist. My closest
friend has revealed his annual birthday greeting to those who were born on New
Year’s Day. It is clever as always. It is time for me to move.
If you notice a
change in the timbre of my posts, please be aware that I am working to align my
faith more deeply with all that I strive to accomplish. It is a simple adjustment and yet a hazardous
one. I am trying to purge everything that
is not based on my love for Christ and for his creation, especially my fellow humans. This will impact how I interact about
everything.
This is not a
resolution but, rather, the continuance of that toward which I have been
working since September. It comes down
to a single question for me. Am I certain
that what I am thinking, feeling, saying, or doing will help me and help others
feel the love that the Father has for us?
If I am not certain
that my movement is out of love for others then I should be still. I am not allowed to be still in my journey, therefore,
my movements must be out of love. My writing,
my work, my interactions, my leisure, my every thought needs to be honed to express
this. This is the core of following Christ,
seeking righteousness and holiness, and searching for the Kingdom of God.
My Grandfather used
to often say, “if we focus on doing the right thing, we do not have time to do
the wrong things.” Now Dear Reader, as
we start the year, imagine the Father singing to us about how much he would do
for us to feel his love. Walk with me as
we discover together the impact this can have.
As always, I will treasure your thoughts.
Make You Feel My Love
– Garth Brooks
When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love
When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love
I know you haven't made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I've known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong
I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue
I'd go crawling down the avenue
There ain't nothing that I wouldn't do
To make you feel my love
The storms are raging on the rollin' sea
Down on the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
But you ain't seen nothing like me yet
There's nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
Make you happy, make your dreams come true
To make you feel my........ love
Wishing you joy in the journey,
