The Crucible of Time ~ No Wasted Time

Greetings Dear Reader,

Often, in discussing the use of time I have pointed out that there are no neutral moments.  Every instant is used for light or darkness.  Every minute is spent on good or evil.

This is a primary purpose in walking with the understanding that we must be aware always.  We must seek right and righteousness in all of our thoughts, words, and actions.  Further, it is why we must focus on loving the Father and each other with every instant of life.

You may think it puerile, but I am going to express a definition of love.  We cannot define love in our own terms.  Love must be expressed in balance with justice, holiness, goodness, and righteousness.  To try to love without the other elements, is not loving.  It is a shadow of love that eventually leaves one wanting and harmed.

If, however, we love others in balance with these other elements, love is more powerful than any force there is.  Even if those we show love in this light never respond, we have not wasted a moment.  If they treat our love with disdain and judgment or refuse to give and be loving in return, the love shown is not void.  Love given unconditionally is never wasted.

If we are to capture every moment in time and use it well, then we can only do this by focusing on finding the love of God in that moment and reflecting it on those around us.  When we claim to love others and do not do this, then we are not on a path of truth.  We are not able to use time well if we do not invest it in the two great commands.

Even if we never see the positive results of our efforts, we can journey onward knowing that we have used the moments to love others.  If we are wronged for doing right then the Father promises us that he will make all things right eventually.  That has to be enough to motivate me to continue to seek him and love others in every moment.

As we walk together Dear Reader, I want to become better at showing you love in every grain of time.  That does not mean that I will always agree with you or accept your point of view on things.  What I will do is strive to love you where you are and hope that you see the Father’s love for you in it.  I know that even if that is never enough for you that I will not have wasted a second in loving you.  When the crucible of time burns away everything else, loving others will always remain.

Wishing you joy in the journey,
