Greetings Dear Reader,
I can remember sleeping out under the stars as a lad. Whether it was on a fishing trip with my Grandfather or at summer camp, I would lie awake taking in the deep beauty of the constellations and their movement in the great expanse. Everything about what is out there captivates my heart and mind.
I often half-joke of having a starship in eternity rather than a mansion. Where I live it is an easy thing to get out under the naked stars and take in their beauty. At the right season of the year, I can see Orion and when it is really clear make out his brilliant nebula. I see the wonders with my eyes and often visit the images offered by the Hubble. No matter the source of my view, I am awed by the beauty of the cosmic dance.
Then, I ponder my view of this view. There are those who view all this majesty and magnificence as accidental. The trillions of stars, their planets, the nebula, black holes, and nova are all seen as vast cosmic mistakes. I choose to view things as designed by a designer. I love science and believe in the ability of it to explain many things. I also believe there is a Creator who made it all and set it in motion. The heavens do declare the glory of God.
I believe science and Creation can live in mutual integrity and harmony. Both sides of the discussion must accept not having all the answers. In truth, either discussion comes down to what we believe. It always ends with having to have faith. Look at the universe and tell me what you see, Dear Reader. There are wonders there to take your breath away. The cosmic dance beacons us to join in declaring the glory of the one who posed the dance.
There must be answers to all of those questions out there. I, however, prefer to find them by seeing honestly the middle. There are things we do not know and they are designed for us as clues to knowing who did it all. The undiscovered universe is another set of clues to finding the Undiscovered Country and the King who loves us. I want to see it all and worship the Creator rather than the creation.
The Dance – Kemper Crabb
All creation moves in a cosmic Dance
Before the Lord her King
and the rhythms, the reason, the rhyme
of the dance pulses within everything
And the universe wheels and whirls like
a dervish in perfect seven-step time.
The Lord made the Dange,
He taught her the steps, and He
causes the songs to shine.
We must danse, danse, danse
dance in God's honor.
We must yield all of our steps unto the King
We must danse, danse, danse
dance in God's honor.
Let His praises ring throughout the earth.
Adam and Eve danced in Eden's environs
Early in earth's morning air
They named all the animals musical names
glorious potentiality shared.
But Lucifer sang out a serpentine song
and he offered death's dance as a token.
In pausing to listen, Adam missed his step
Earth's harmony in the dance broken.
We must danse, danse, danse
dance in God's honor.
We must yield all of our steps unto the King
We must danse, danse, danse
dance in God's honor.
Let His praises ring throughout the earth.
Jesus danced into the world.
singing his heavenly song.
He taught the dance to those who would
listen and learn as He moved along.
But the steps of His dance led to a cross
where He died as the haters mocked on.
But he danced through death's arms
and over hell's gate and in three days
danced forth from his tomb.
We must danse, danse, danse
dance in God's honor.
We must yield all of our steps unto the King
We must danse, danse, danse
dance in God's honor.
Let His praises ring throughout the earth.
Wishing you joy in the journey,
