We serve the King of broken things. He comes to seek out and redeem that which is broken. What we must see is that we are the ones who broke them. Jesus came to redeem it all.
We do many things to assure ourselves of the goodness of our world. This is a dead land, as poisoned as the strongholds of Sauren. Even the most beautiful of valleys is an anthem to death and dying. We do not wish to see it or own it. Still, the Father gives us countless moments of beauty in our global death garden.
He wishes for us to see the cycle of redemption in everything that grows. The time will come when the King returns, the white tree will blossom, and the long dark siege will be over. Until then, we must allow the King to heal us moment by moment. We must kick at the darkness with love and light.
Just as Aragorn lead the dead to their redemption, Jesus asks us to follow him, fulfill our oaths, and be free. It may be a broken world, but the King will return. He will bring us to that land where all its beauty and peace. Right now, Dear Reader, it is dark and we are at the turn of the tide. We must have faith and thus obtain courage. It is faith we must screw to the sticking place so that our love, hope, and courage will not fail.
The line, the sword, the fellowship, and the Kingdom all appear broken from our vantage point. The truth is far different. The Kingdom is here. The fellowship can be whole. The sword is in the hand of the King. The line was never broken, just waiting for the proper time. This is the truth in which we travel, live, and have our being.
Wishing you joy in the journey,
