Greetings Dear Reader,
I am part of a group that seeks to understand the images of the Gospel in the tomes of literature the group favors. More often, and sadly the conversation devolves into divisive discussions on theological and denominational divisions. It causes me to ponder what really matters in terms of faith and following. It prompts me to ask what discussions are more important than expressing love for the Father and for each other?
I am at a crossroads in my journey that requires me to delve deeper into this. I need to look at the things into which I place time and value as it addresses faith and following. There are things that shall not pass. There are areas that will hold no compromise. These are narrow and few.
There are many things over which we divide that do nothing to promote the Gospel. Rather, they make us look like fools to those who need to see love and peace so they will see Christ in us. It is not wrong to think differently about things. It is heinous to divide on some of the things we do.
I am going to address a few of these for the sake of clearing my own mind, focusing on love relative to them, and to prompt discussion with you, Dear Reader. It is certain that there are things that matter eternally. Our concern must be on those things. Please, as always, travel with me and share your thoughts and questions.
Wishing you joy in the journey,
