Be Born in Me ~ All This Time

Happy Christmas Dear Reader,

What did you write down yesterday?  Did you find the courage to realize that bravery comes from the Father?  We must wait for him to move or to move us.  A week from today is Christmas Day.  We are waiting.

Each evening from December to December we wait for Christmas.  Jesus promised to return and we are waiting.  In the times of trouble from Egypt to the Birth of Christ, Israel waited.  From the day Adam sinned until the resurrection, humans have waited.

We are always in a state of waiting for God to be with us.  “All this time we have waited for the promise.”  The promise began its fulfillment when Gabriel spoke to Mary.  She was ready to receive the promise even though there would be much difficulty in realizing it.

Waiting for Christmas, the promise, and for Emmanuel is the time through which we all travel.  In all the great stories, there is waiting.  There is the idea that a better time will come.  Those stories all flow from the hope of that time coming when all things are good again.  It is all a single story based on faith and hope.

We wait for the promise of a returned Saviour just like Mary and all of Israel waited for the promise of a redeeming Messiah back then.  We wait and in that waiting, we find hope if we wait in faith.  As the sand pours through the glass, we wait for time to be full again.  It was in the fullness of time that the Father saw fit to send the Son.  The glass was turned again and every grain; every moment draws us closer to the realization of the promise.

I am writing down that I long to live every single grain that passes through the pinch in anticipation of the completion of the promise.  I long for Christ to return and set all things back to good.  I wonder if you are willing to hope and wait with me, Dear Reader.   Christmas still has promises to keep.

O Come, O Come Emmanuel – Anna Hawkins

O come; O come, Emmanuel,
To free your captive Israel.

(English Translation)

O come, O come, Emmanuel,
and ransom captive Israel
that mourns in lonely exile here
until the Son of God appear.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
to you shall come, O Israel
Oh, come thou wisdom from on high,
and order all things far and nigh;
To us the path of knowledge show,
and teach us in her ways to go.

Rejoice! Rejoice! O Israel
To you shall come, Emmanuel
Oh, come, desire of nations, bind
All peoples in one the heart and mind;
Bid envy, strife, and quarrels cease
Fill the whole world with heavens peace

Rejoice! Rejoice! O Israel.
To you shall come, Emmanuel
O Emmanuel
O Emmanuel

Wishing you joy in the journey,
