Be Born in Me ~ Take a Breath

Happy Christmas Dear Reader,

What did you write down yesterday?  I would love for you to tell me.  I am encouraged by your responses.  I know that I have asked a lot of you this month but I hope you see that it is for your benefit that I am asking for you to find some application.

Today we need to take a breath.  The week will fly by as we try to have everything in place.  We need to sit and just breathe for a moment.  The things we have to do will be easier if we do it with a little perspective.   I am reminded that Mary took time to ponder all that was going on around her.  She had moments where she took the time to breathe and remember that the events were leading to something great.

It is going to all turn out better than we imagine even if we do not have the perfect Christmas.  It is our hearts that matter.  It is finding Christ in them that gives us peace.  It is being grateful for what we have, especially Jesus that puts us at ease.  God is with us even when the busy to-do list overwhelms us.

We have to take moments to breathe and ponder that what we celebrate is eternally true.  God is with us.  He always will be no matter how long the lines or taxing the times.  Emmanuel is a reality.  We have to pause to remember it and let it measure our peace to us.  We need to let it give us rest.

I am going to write down that I will rest for a moment every day in the comfort and joy of this knowledge.  It is why I can love at any cost.  It is why I can give liberally to others.  It is why I will never lack for my needs.  When the world seems too dark or too cold, I will sit, ponder, and just breathe.  I will allow the knowledge of Christ to be born in me.  I will allow the peace and joy to be bourn by me.  Breathe, Dear Reader.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen – Annie Lennox

God rest you merry, gentlemen,
Let nothing you dismay,
For Jesus Christ our Saviour
Was born upon this day,
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray:
O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy.

In Bethlehem, in Israel
This blessed Babe was born
And laid within a manger
Upon this blessed morn
The which His Mother Mary
Did nothing take in scorn
Oh tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
Oh tidings of comfort and joy

From God our heavenly Father
A blessed angel came,
And unto certain shepherds
Brought tidings of the same,
How that in Bethlehem was born
The Son of God by name:
O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy.

Fear not then, said the Angel
Let nothing you affright
This day is born a Savior
Of a pure Virgin bright
To free all those who trust in Him
From Satan's power and might
Oh tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
Oh tidings of comfort and joy

The shepherds at those tidings
Rejoiced much in mind,
And left their flocks a-feeding
In tempest, storm and wind,
And went to Bethlehem straightway,
This blessed Babe to find:
O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy.

But when to Bethlehem they came,
Whereat this Infant lay,
They found Him in a manger,
Where oxen feed on hay;
His mother Mary kneeling,
Unto the Lord did pray:
O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy.

Now to the Lord sing praises,
All you within this place,
And with true love and brotherhood
Each other now embrace;
This holy tide of Christmas
All other doth deface
O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy.

Wishing you joy in the journey,
